Itchiness Is Back

Remember that rash I was getting a few months ago? Well it is back, but this time I think I know what it is from. No DMSA this time, no supplements this time.

For 8 weeks my husband and I went on a wheat free, gluten free, egg free and almond free diet. He was holding all dairy but I still had a little in my coffee since I HATE goat milk. YUCK.

The day we added wheat back into our diet, I was itchy. I didn't think about it though. Then the one day I had a sandwich on some sprouted bread and within 45 minutes I had tiny little itchy bumps on my arm, face and legs. It is the same exact spots that itched before.

Yesterday we had some pizza and I was so itchy that I had to take a zyrtec! It was unbearable.

I think I might be allergic to wheat. That's the only thing that makes sense. I'm am going to restrict my wheat/gluten intake for a week and see how I feel.

I hate to say it but it sounds like a Candida reaction to me. I went through your old posts to make sure I wasn't telling you something you already know about and are dealing with. Of course I could be wrong - it's just a guess based on my reactions. I too have mercury poisoning (just got 15 amalgams removed) and have been battling Candida for a couple years. If I eat sugar I get itchy. But I don't know - maybe it is just a wheat allergy which would be so much better! Ugh. This blows huh?

I can eat sugar just fine. Sadly I've been eating a lot more of it than I used to.

When I went on the gluten free diet, I had no itching at all. We ate chocolate, yams, oranges, bananas, coconut milk ice cream, potatoes. As you can see lots of things that are full of sugar that should have triggered a candida attack.

Since I cut out wheat again, I haven't been itchy. I definitely think it has something to do with gluten or wheat. The itching is so bad from it, that I'm just cutting it out of my diet indefinitely. I definitely don't want to live on zyrtec.

I think candida is blamed for too many ailments to be honest. Same with mercury toxicity, but that's a whole other topic...haha

Oh good, I'm glad there are no sugar reactions. That's interesting what you wrote about candida and mercury being blamed for too many ailments. I've been dealing with both for so long and lately have been thinking, "maybe I don't even have Candida anymore." Maybe it's something else that's wrong with me...Who knows! (I haven't started chelation for real yet. Hopefully that will help.) Thanks for your great blog and good luck!

Well I think we want to put a label to what's wrong with us. When we find something that has a broad range of symptoms, we then assume everything that is wrong with us is because of it. Candida and mercury toxicity have a lot of symptoms associated with it. I've read some websites that literally say everything is candida.

Now I'm not saying that mercury doesn't cause problems. Just to give you an example. Obviously something is causing my TSH to be really really low. Now do I assume it's mercury toxicity and just ignore it or do I get the secondary hypothyroid diagnosis and attack it that way? It's really hard to say what's the right way to go about things.

Endocrine disorders can cause a whole slew of what seems unrelated symptoms. Are the endocrine disorders caused by mercury toxicity? Maybe, but I have no idea. Can chelation CURE a documented hypothyroid or adrenal insufficiency? I have no idea. I haven't come across anyone with solid evidence to support that they've done this. Maybe adrenal fatigue has been cured, but what about someone with ACTH deficiency. That is much more complex and serious.

I know that I have mercury toxicity, but at what point do I push it aside and evaluate what exactly is wrong with me? Well that's what I've been doing these past few months. The gluten/wheat allergy has amazed me. I used to eat wheat all the time, so obviously something has changed to cause the itchiness.

Hopefully this made some sense to you. I'm just rambling again! haha
